Remove lists with force and verbose: sudo rm /var/lib/apt/lists/* -vf then I tried to fix broken with: sudo apt --fix-broken install and then removed unneccesary of 650MB files with: sudo apt-get autoremove and then finally: sudo apt-get update Share Improve this answer Follow WebIf you know the package name then you only have to: sudo apt-get install package_name Replace package_name your package name. Here you are using bionic source list (Ubuntu 18.04) for Ubuntu 20.04. I believe this workaround sometimes causes messup with dependencies tree.
