Without a way to vent the internal pressure,this pressure will make a way out of the motor. Usually by pushing out gaskets,dipsticks,ect. Pcv valve does this well at the lower speeds,higher vacum but breather is still needed to vent. But it would work well enough with one breather. perfect, by the way, I dont have a PCV valve nor an oil fill tube with the breather on top, just what I have on the valve cover.

I had bought just regular chrome breathers when we put the motor in. I end up with a lot of the oil burning off the engine and exhaust and coming back into the cabin.
