Webb20 apr. 2013 · There are many guys here who have run the Skip White (or Pro Comp if you want) small body hei distributor with zero problems. Some have run them for several years. I have one too, but not installed yet. Not sure if these other guys had them fail or just heard stories of failure. The large cap HEI distributors just used the distributor body as the heat sink. The PN 10474610 heat sink was used on later computer-controlled ignition systems but will work with the 4-pin module when modified with some new holes.

It just seems that it would be better to either use a stock dist and install one of the electronic conversions that are available which work great, OR, have Dave Ray convert the stock dist to a small body HEI. If you break down on the road, you can find replacement parts at almost any auto parts store.
